Notre Dame Founder's Day Celebrations

Each year we celebrate the arrival of the first Notre Dame Sisters to Norwich in October 1864.

Due to Coronavirus, Notre Dame broke with tradition and celebrated a together through the miracle of Zoom!

Fr Sean Connelly led a liturgy with readings and prayers said by students and staff, with all Forms tuning in from their classrooms.  Fr Sean took a quote from St Julie, the Foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame as the theme 'We must always cast the seed in the soil and the good God will give the growth when it pleases Him.’

Our students were then invited to participate in activities to reflect on the importance of being an inclusive society.  They also raised a total of £1,200 for St Martin's Trust and CAFOD to help people locally and globally who are struggling from the impact of Coronavirus.

The students expressed their thoughts in writing about why being inclusive is such a significant issue for young people today.  One student summed up all our thoughts with a rap!

Judging a minority

Shouldn’t be your priority

Human decency

Should be our currency
